NHFDC Trust Fund Scholarship for Differently-Abled Students

National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation invites applications for the Trust Fund Scholarship 2017-18 from differently-abled students to enable them to pursue professional or technical courses from recognized institutes and get employed/self-employed. In total, 2500 scholarships will be given to those applicants who have taken admission either for graduation or post graduation (technical course) in any recognized college.
NHFDC TRUST FUND SCHOLARSHIP FOR DIFFERENTLY-ABLED STUDENTS 2017-18 

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must fulfill the following eligibility conditions -
  • Students should be pursuing degree or post graduate level technical and professional courses from a recognized institution. 
  • Students who get admission to a college in a technical/professional course on the basis of a competitive examination will be eligible for the scholarship without any consideration of the percentage of marks at higher secondary/graduation level. 
  • Students who get admission in technical/professional courses without facing any competitive examination will also be eligible for the scholarship. However, such students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be done strictly on merit basis.In case of female students should have not less than 45% marks at higher secondary/graduation level.
  • A scholarship holder under this Scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course.
  • The annual family income of the beneficiary should not exceed INR 3 lac from all sources. Preference shall be given to economically weaker students. 
Note: A student, who is awarded a scholarship for one course will be eligible for another course too after its completion. However, the awardees will not be eligible for a similar or equivalent course. The students should also not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course.

HOW TO APPLY

Eligible students can apply online with the following steps -

Step 1: Click Website to register.
Step 2: Read all instructions carefully and proceed to apply for the scholarship by clicking here.
Step 3: Fresh applicants need to click on 'New Scholarship Application' to sign up and existing users need to click on 'Renewal Scholarship Application'
Step 4: New users need to fill in the required details and register while existing users can directly login with their email-id and password.
Step 5: Fill in all necessary details in the application and upload required documents.
Step 6: Finally submit the duly filled application.

Award details

For Professional Graduate courses -

Maintenance allowance of INR 2500 per month
Book/Stationery allowance of INR 6000 per annum

For Professional Postgraduate courses -

Maintenance allowance of INR 3000 per month
Book/Stationery allowance of INR 10000 per annum

Additional benefits will be given to following candidates -

For Visually Handicapped 

Brailer/Brailer Typewriter of up to INR 10000 for blind
Laptop or Desktop with screen reading software of up to INR 40,000 for blind
Laptop or Desktop with screen magnification software of up to INR 60000 for low vision

For Hearing Handicapped

Binaural digital programmable hearing aid with annual provision of button cells having an estimated cost up to INR 50000 + INR 3600 per annum
Cell phone with SMS SIM card having an estimated cost of up to INR 5,000
Laptop or Desktop with WiFi (Bluetooth) facility having an estimated cost of up to INR 70000

For Orthopaedically Handicapped
Laptop or Desktop having an estimated cost of INR 40000

Documents required
  • Academic record – attested copies of relevant certificates/mark sheets for the qualifying examination.
  • Proof of annual income - Proof of income shall include last salary slip of parent/guardian, acknowledgment of income tax/income certificate e from revenue official/gazetted officer/public representative e.g. MP, MLA, MLC, Panchayat officials etc.;
  • Attested copy of Disability certificate;
  • Course fee receipt if any, duly paid during the academic session;
  • Receipt/Invoice of eligible assistive devices duly countersigned by the authorized signatory of the institution;
  • Attested copy of Aadhar Card
  • In case of continuation of scholarship in a succeeding year, a copy of the mark sheet of the preceding year.
NOTE: Rejection of Applications in the following conditions:-
  • Applications received after the last date i.e 30.06.2018;
  • Incomplete in any respect;
  • Not accompanied by copies of the required documents;
  • Any fresh paper/enclosures submitted after closing date, shall not be considered;
