Telangana National Talent Search Examination

The Director of Government Examinations, Telangana invites applications from students of Class 10 for Telangana National Talent Search Examination 2017. The examination will be conducted on 05 November 2017 (Sunday) from 10 AM to 1 PM in Telugu/Hindi/Urdu and English medium at all the head quarters of 31 districts in the state.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must fulfil the following eligibility criteria
  • The student must be studying in Class 10 during the academic year 2017-18 in any recognized school in Telangana state including Kendriya Vidyalayas and schools affiliated to ICSE and CBSE.
  • The students who have been selected for NMMS scholarships and studying in Class 10 now may also apply for the examination, but they have to forego the further NMMS scholarships if they are selected in NTS Examination.

HOW TO APPLY


The eligible students can apply through following steps


Step 1: Visit the official website and click on NTSE link displayed at the left side on the bottom of the web page.
Step 2: Select the "NTSE Application" option.
Step 3: Enter the school code and password to open the application form.
Step 4: Fill in all the required information in the application form and upload the photo with the signature of size less than 30 KB.
Step 5: Finally submit the application form.
Step 6: After uploading the details of all students, the institutions need to click on "Report" at the top of application form. Then click on "PDF" link for display of nominal roll.
Step 7: Take the printout of the nominal roll and submit the following in office of concerned District Educational Officer
  • Two sets of nominal rolls attested by the concerned Head of the Institution.
  • Application of each candidate attested by concerned Head of the Institution (Attested copy of caste and medical certificate in case of SC/ST/PH should be enclosed.)
  • Original Challan of fee remittance.

Note: Offline applications are not accepted. The examination fee of INR 100 has to be paid in the form of Challan to the following Head of Account draw only in SBI or SBH where Challan (Treasury) facility is available-

Award details

1000 candidates are awarded every year all over the country with a scholarship amount of INR 1250 per month for Intermediate 1st and 2nd years. Thereafter, INR 2000 per month is awarded up to Post Graduation. For PhD as per the UGC norms.

Pattern of Examination 

The examination consists of Mental Ability Test (MAT) for 50 marks with 50 questions, Language Comprehensive Test for 50 marks with 50 questions (Telugu/Urdu/English) and Scholastic Aptitude Test for 100 marks with 100 questions comprising Social sciences (40), Sciences (40) and Mathematics (20). Each question will carry one mark. Language Comprehensive Test will be qualifying in nature and marks will not be added for deciding final merit list of the candidate and not to be added to the grand total.
