The Grantham Institute Widening Participation Scholarship at Imperial College London offers a full home tuition fee scholarship for one outstanding applicant to the MSc Sustainable Energy Futures (course code H9A1) for the 2026/2027 academic year. Who can apply (eligibility)
You must be a UK-based applicant (home fee status) and fit one of the following categories:
Recent graduates (completed undergraduate within last 5 academic years)
You must have completed your undergraduate degree within the last five academic years and either:
Received funding from Student Finance (England, Wales or Northern Ireland) — the full government-funded maintenance loan (based on household income of £25,000 or less in your final year of study); or
Been eligible for the full maintenance loan (household income ≤ £25,000) but had a bursary that covered all costs.
Applicants returning to study (undergraduate completed more than 5 years ago)
You must show current financial need by meeting one of the following:
You are currently receiving one or more means-tested benefits; or
Your household income in the previous tax year was less than £25,000 (evidence such as P60 or HMRC self-assessment required).
Note: The scholarship is not open to continuing Imperial students.
Selection & required documentation
Selection is based on your application and interview (shortlisted candidates may be interviewed via MS Teams).
If selected, you must provide proof of your financial background (e.g., confirmation of your undergraduate loan, P60, HMRC documents, or benefit evidence).
Decisions are expected by end of July 2026.
