The University of Melbourne is offering Faculty of Science Postgraduate Writing-Up Award, 2019 for graduate research candidates enrolled through the Faculty of Science after the submission of their PhD thesis. The awards are supported through two funds: the Albert Shimmins Fund (governed by UTR7.220), and the David Lachlan Hay Memorial Fund (governed by UTR6.190). The selected candidate will receive up to AUD 5,000 which will be paid over 3 months.

To be eligible, an applicant must:
Have submitted a PhD thesis for examination and be awaiting the examination result
Have submitted the thesis within three years and 10 months (FTE) candidature period
Not be in receipt of any similar award
Note: The applicants must not undertake full-time or substantial regular part-time employment during the tenure of the award.
What are the benefits ?
Approximately 12 scholarships are awarded under this programme. The selected candidates will receive AUD 5,000 stipend which will be paid over three months.
