Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund Fellowships 2017 objective is to provide an opportunity for exceptionally talented people age between 40 to 50 years to devote themselves with freedom to their creative work for a period of two years. To honor Jawaharlal Nehru's memory must take into account his multifaceted personality and his many splendours achievements.This fellowship dedicated to the encouragement, support and patronage of higher learning and of free intellectual inquiry and get a stipend of Rs 100000.

• Open to Indian citizens.

• Age between 40 to 50 years is eligible to apply.

Awards

HOW TO APPLY

The application can be done by post with the following steps:

Step 1: The application may be sent n plain paper giving the following details:

• Bio-data, along with details of original work.
• Experience in the field of specialisation.
• The project proposed to be undertaken (A synopsis typed in double space in not more than a 1000 words).
• A copy of recent passport size photograph.
• Undertaking in the following format to be submitted only after you have been awarded the Fellowship.

Selection:

The Jawaharlal Nehru Fellows are chosen by a selection committee consisting of distinguished persons in different fields of human Endeavour. The selection committee strives to maintain the highest standards of excellence and the widest possible spectrum of creative talent in the Fellowships.

Stipend:

The Fellowship is tenable for two years and carries a monthly stipend of Rs 100000 which is exempt from Income Tax u/s 10(17A) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. In addition, actual expenses on secretarial assistance, travelling and other contingencies are met by the fund subject to a ceiling of Rs 75000 per annum.
